It’s crazy how time flies and we are already nearly halfway through 2022. I don’t know about you, but this summer there are tons of amazing new YA and MG books coming out, that I absolutely cannot wait to dive into. Here are my most anticipated books releasing this summer of 2022.

1. Violet Made Of Thorns by Gina Chen

Most Anticipated Book Releases Of Summer 2022

One of the books hitting the shelves this July is Violet Made Of Thorns by Gina Chen, and I absolutely cannot wait for it! This stunning, gorgeous, gorgeous book was such a treat to read, a lot of thanks to the publisher for sending me an advanced reader’s copy. The story follows a power-hungry, ambitious, morally gray witch, a handsome, cursed, hypocrite of a prince, and a doomed prophecy.

Sprinkle in a bit of intense enemies-to-lovers romance, incredible parallels to favorite fairytales as old as time, and you get Violet Made Of Thorns, a whimsical and enchanting fantasy novel that takes all the tropes of a classic fairytale and gives them a deliciously dark twist. Read my full review below.

2. Belladonna by Adalyn Grace

Most Anticipated Book Releases Of Summer 2022

Next up on my list of the most anticipated releases for 2022’s second half is Belladonna by Adalyn Grace. I was lucky to get a copy from the publisher for review, and I am absolutely in love with the book!

Belladonna is a beautifully written YA Murder Mystery + Gothic Romance about a girl who can see ghosts and Death himself who cannot seem to stay away from her.

Full of humor, slow-burn romance, and thrilling who-dunn-it murder mystery vibes, Belladonna is a must-read for any YA fans who also love crime drama.

3. The Drowned Woods by Emily Lloyd-Jones

Most Anticipated Book Releases Of Summer 2022

Speaking of YA fantasy novels that also fall into the mystery genre, The Drowned Woods by Emily Lloyd-Jones is a must-read for anyone who loves adventure, fantasy and thriller/suspense genres. A very fast-paced Fantasy Heist novel, The Drowned Woods is one amazing story featuring a a witch on the run, an unwilling muscle for hire who refuses violence, and an adorable corgi, and based loosely on several Welsh mythologies.

4. We Made It All Up by Margot Harrison

Most Anticipated Book Releases Of Summer 2022

Yet another murder mystery, We Made It All Up definitely sounds like an exciting, thrilling, and suspenseful YA novel that’s right up my alley. A story about a small-town girl suspected of a murder she cannot remember committing, We Made It All Up by Margot Harrison sounds like a promising, page-turner novel that I cannot wait to get my hands on.

5. Nura And The Immortal Palace by M. T. Khan

Most Anticipated Book Releases Of Summer 2022

One of the things that I have been loving over the past six years in the book community is the rise of diverse books and Muslim representation. And one such book that I cannot wait to dive into is Nura And The Immortal Palace by M. T. Khan.

Pitched as Aru Shah meets Spirited Away, Nura And The Immortal Palace by M. T. Khan follows the story of a 12-year-old, impoverished kid who dreams of a better life. But things go horribly wrong when, after her best friend’s death, Nura dives into the mica mine and instead discovers the world of jinns.
