Monthly Wrap Up: August 2022

The summer of 2022 is officially over, and I am so very grateful. This year has been blessedly wonderful, and looking back, I have made many beautiful memories and had many new experiences. As we get ready to welcome fall, I want to take a moment to appreciate all the good things I have been blessed with in this monthly wrap up of August 2022.

August 2022 Recap: Favorite Books & Shows Of The Month

This month I have managed to squeeze in enough time for three books: Dauntless by Elisa A. Bonnin, To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo, and The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi.

While I loved both Dauntless and The Gilded Wolves, I was a bit disappointed by To Kill A Kingdom, which is a shame because the story closely parallels The Little Mermaid (but darker and grittier) and had started off pretty well.

Regardless, I would say this has been a pretty good month of reading for me, what with juggling a full-time job plus studying after work too.

I also binge watched and went crazy over the new The Sandman series on Netflix. It was an absolute masterpiece and has to be one of the best fantasy stories I have ever seen on-screen. Check out my fangirling review of The Sandman here

Blog Posts Published In August 2022

August has been a slow month for posting on the blog, mostly because I was feeling a bit too exhausted and under the weather to schedule on time. But I still managed to churn out some posts that I am actually quite proud of. If you haven’t seen them, do check them out below and share your thoughts.

Highlights Of The Month: Best Of August 2022

Now, moving on to a more personal note: I have made quite a few beautiful memories this August of 2022. Most recently, my colleagues and I discovered a very lovely cafe near our workplace where they sell the best Oreo frappes, waffles with ice cream, cheesy chicken sandwiches, and a great view of the city from the rooftops.

However, that’s not the best part: this cafe also has a great collection of books that you can read while you wait for your order, and I was delighted to find this gorgeous edition of Grimm’s Fairy Tales there.

I made a tiktok of our first time visiting the cafe, check it out! 👇

Besides this, I have also had one of the best news ever this month. Turns out: I’ll be going to an all expense paid trip to THAILAND!!

Of course, the trip is set to be in 2023, and it’s actually going to be our annual office retreat + WordCamp trip combined. WordCamps are one of the most anticipated WordPress conferences, and the one we’re attending soon in 2023 is WordCamp Asia, the first and biggest regional WordPress conference for the Asian community.

If everything goes according to plan though, I might be able to squeeze in another trip to India in 2022, this one for WordCamp Kolkata in December. Fingers crossed I’ll get my visa and passport on time for it!

All things considered, August 2022 has been a loooong gruelling month, but like most of 2022, it has been a good month over all. Insha’Allah, the coming month will be even better, not just for me, but also for every one of us, including you, my dear reader.

Until next week! <3
