Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn't

Happy Tuesday everyone! It’s time for another Top 10 Tuesday post–a weekly meme created by the amazing people at The Broke And The Bookish

2015 has seen a lot of good books. With hits like Six of Crows by Leigh Burdago or Nicola Yoon’s Everything Everything, 2015 should have been an amazing bookish year right? Well…no, not for me, seeing how as they were so many books I didn’t get the chance to read because life got in the way.

1) Six of Crows by Leigh Burdago

I fell in love with Leigh Bardugo’s writing ever since reading The Grisha trilogy–which will forever be my most favorite and cherished series of all time. Six of Crows is still on my TBR list and I plant to read it as soon as I can get my hands on it.

2) Illuminae by Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff

The last time I read a book where the whole story was told through IMs, texts and emails was Where Rainbows End by Cecilia Ahern and I loved it there–I though it went well with a contemporary romance genre. I’m not sure how this style will fit a sci-fi dystopia, but I have been meaning to give it a try anyway.

3) Winter by Marissa Meyer

The only reason why I haven’t read this in 2015 yet is because my book is still coming in the mail. That, and I am not sure if I can handle the end of the awesomeness that is known as The Lunar Chronicles

4) All The Rage by Courtney Summers

Once in a while, I get an itch to read a book about unspeakable things–things that most people would rather look away from because it is so horrible, so monstrous that they don’t want to even want to acknowledge. I know that these things happen everyday around us and that I only have to turn on the news to see them, but books about rape and abuse helps me understand these helpless victims better and constantly makes me respect them for their strength and resilience. And that’s why all All The Rage by Courtney Summers have been in my TBR list since the beginning of 2015.

5) Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon

This was a book that has seen a lot of hype in 2015. Naturally, I missed that train but I plan on getting on board this year. After all, a girl who is allergic to everything? That should be interesting.

6) A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis

This was actually a case of a missed-that-ARC’s-deadline. But hey, it happens to everyone right? I plan on reading this as soon as I am done with the other ARCs I was supposed to last year. Which won’t take long. Promise.

7) Tether by Anna Jarzab

I have been meaning to read this book, I really have. But somehow I got swept away into the magic of Netgalley and in the haze of speed-reading and reviewing ARCs I totally forgot about this beautiful book that has been collecting dust in my shelf. I plan to do justice to this awesomeness knows as The Many Worlds trilogy this February as soon as I can.

8) The Rest Of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness

A story about the ordinary? Count me in! I haven’t been able to get my hands on this because it’s not available where I live yet but that’s going to change this March 2016. I guess I’ll just have to wait…something I am not very good at.

9) Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy

A story with an overweight and yet confident protagonist was needed for a long time, especially one where the protagonist moves to inspire self-confidence in others too. Dumplin’ is a story I cannot miss out on any longer.

10) A Thousand Nights by E. K. Johnston

I loved 1001 Nights while growing up, and I have heard this being called an “elegant re-telling of a classic fairytale”. Of all the 1001 Nights re-tellings, this is the one I am most interested to read.
